For leaders who cannot afford the wrong answer at the wrong moment. Your Consigliere is a single, trusted legal advisor available to you directly, at any hour, on any matter that demands a clear head and sound judgement.
No gatekeepers. No billing surprises. No delays. When a decision cannot wait, neither do we..
What is the Consigliere?
The Consigliere is a premium retained legal service built for executives, directors, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals who need more than occasional legal advice on a billable-hour arrangement.
Your Consigliere combines the legal skill of a senior practitioner with the business acumen of a trusted advisor and the personal discretion of a confidant. The relationship is ongoing, not transactional. Over time, your Consigliere develops a deep understanding of your business, your risk environment, and your personal circumstances — which means the advice you receive is not generic, and it is not slow.
The model is deliberately selective. We take on a limited number of Consigliere clients to ensure that every one of them receives genuine priority access and attention.
Think of it as having your own senior partner — one who already knows your business inside-out and picks up the phone when you call.
Who is this for?
Managing personal director liability, board governance, ASIC obligations, and employment matters — with a trusted legal voice in your corner, not across a billing wall.
Contracts, disputes, regulatory compliance, IP, and succession — the ongoing legal needs of a growing business, managed by a single advisor who understands the whole picture.
Complex personal legal matters — estate planning, asset protection, property, family law interface, and private transactions — managed with absolute discretion.
Operating in regulated, sensitive sectors where legal missteps carry disproportionate consequences — and where standard outside counsel arrangements are too slow.
What's included
Board-level legal input on major decisions — acquisitions, restructures, partnership negotiations, and regulatory strategy.
Quarterly legal risk reviews, early-warning identification across your commercial contracts, employment arrangements, and regulatory obligations.
Immediate availability for regulatory investigations, dawn raids, litigation threats, data breaches, and employment crises. When the call comes, we answer.
Board meeting support, director duty advice, ASIC and ASX compliance, and shareholder relations management.
Target screening, due diligence management, deal structuring and negotiation, and post-acquisition integration — with your Consigliere coordinating specialist input where required.
Strategic oversight of disputes — assessing early settlement value, managing external litigation counsel, and controlling the cost and distraction of legal proceedings.
Estate planning, asset protection, director liability shields, personal property matters, and family law interface — managed with complete discretion.
No internal politics. No judgment. A trusted advisor who tells you what you need to hear — not what is convenient — when it matters most.
Curated introductions to capital providers, specialist advisors, industry contacts, and government stakeholders — when the situation calls for it.
Common questions
The Consigliere service is provided on a retained basis — a fixed monthly arrangement that covers defined services and access, with agreed terms for any work that falls outside the core scope. This means you know what you are paying, your advisor knows what is expected, and the billing relationship does not get in the way of the advisory relationship. Pricing is discussed directly with Ben Hook during the initial consultation and is set based on the scope of your requirements.
Yes. While the service is well-suited to business leaders, it is also available to high-net-worth individuals with complex personal legal needs — estate and succession matters, significant property portfolios, or personal situations requiring ongoing, discreet legal advice.
Consigliere clients have a direct phone number and email for their advisor — not a switchboard, not a secretary, not a paralegal. For urgent matters, we aim to respond within the hour. For non-urgent matters, we respond same day. We are clear about what constitutes an emergency and what can wait — and so are our clients, because we establish that understanding at the outset of the relationship.
We deliberately limit the number of Consigliere clients we accept. The value of the service depends entirely on the quality of access and attention we can provide — and that quality is incompatible with an open-ended client list. We will be direct with you about availability at the time of enquiry.
Your Consigliere coordinates. We have a network of specialist counsel — barristers, accountants, tax lawyers, and specialist practitioners — whom we engage on your behalf where required. The Consigliere's role is to manage those relationships, brief the specialists, and ensure you receive integrated advice rather than disconnected opinions.
We recommend beginning with an initial consultation — at no cost — to assess whether the service is the right fit for your situation. We are not interested in retainers that do not serve the client. If the Consigliere model is not right for your needs, we will tell you, and we will suggest what is.
